Curves of raised agate contrast with flat stones in this sensuous Scottish brooch.  Each stone has been placed across and opposite from its mirror image.  The agates of choice are subtly textured, saturated fields of color.  Set prominently in the center of the brooch is a faceted oval cairngorm (Scottish stone).  Diamond shapes of rare colored agate unite the elements of the design.  This is a piece of our museum quality Scottish jewelry.  It exemplifies the talent of a master jeweler.  It will be a star in your collection. c.1860-1880.
